9月18日未明、シンガポール北東部の広範囲で停電が発生。
停電は数時間に及び、14万7千戸以上がこの停電の影響を受けたということだ。
人々は、エアコンが作動しないための寝苦しさと、Wi-Fiが使えない不便さをひしひしと感じながら復旧までの時間を過ごしたということだ。
外は普段ついている明かりが消えてしまったために真っ暗。
どういうわけか停電を免れた家の明かりがぽつぽつと照っている場所もあったようだ。
約40分後、電気は無事に復旧したということだ。
高速道路も真っ暗

真夜中の停電ならば眠ってやり過ごせばよいと思ったのだけど、シンガポールの夜は暑くてそれは通用しないのだね。暑くて眠れないのは辛いね。
日本でもここ最近台風や大地震でかなり長い時間の停電が発生して、それはそれは不便な生活を強いられてしまった人々が沢山いたよ。
こういう時に普段何気なく当たり前に使っているもののありがたみが身に染みて分かるのだよね。
