I’m personally not a huge anime or manga fan but when I first saw the trailer for this anime movie, the animation and scenes seriously blew me away!! maxresdefault If you haven’t watched it yet (Seriously, watch this movie, it’s honestly so innocently good) I must warn you that there will be tiny spoilers, no big plot give aways but you’ve been warned! Again, the scenes were SOOOO beautifully drawn (of course, directed by the one and only Shinkai Makoto, you’d expect nothing less!) and look so real and amazing that I had to share these real life and anime photos with you!

Possible Shinjuku Suga Temple Scene

The main poster of the 2 protagonist takes place in Tokyo’s Shinjuku Suga temple, the next time you’re in Tokyo you can add this to your must-see list ya!

But the school was not from Tokyo?

The school was modelled by a high school in Hiroshima. Why go so far one! And curious, why can’t just draw a make up one!! Why must model another one dey.

JR Shinjuku Sinanomachi Station righttt

This might look like an ordinary scene but it’s actually a model of the surroundings of the JR Shinjuku Shinanomachi station! It looks exactly the same sia!

This place for sure know one la

Aiya many of you might know ( or even been here before) this place without me even giving you a hint please! The very famous window seat in Shibuya’s Tatsuya book store!

This one I dunno

The part of the movie where the protagonist had the most awkward date ever (oops spoiler!) was modelled after the National Art Center in Roppongi(国立新美術館).

The most breath taking and scenic place of all actually took place in Suwa lake in Nagano!

Breath taking views la this

There’s also a story behind the shape of the lake,, SPOILER ALERT! Don’t say I never warn you hor! Go go go if you don’t want to be spoiled please can! In the real world, the lake has a rounded edge on one side and a square edge on the other, therefore everyone knows it as like a keyhole cutout! Interesting thing is that in the movie, it starts off round but after *things and stuff* happens, the round lake turns into the keyhole shape, same as the one in the real world!

And lastly!!

Here’s of the video of where the shrine could have actually been!! Yes!! The place where they mix mix, chew chew, spit spit that drink! And apparently this is where the director spent his high school days!? No wonder laaaa aiyoooo!! I hope one day there would be some Singaporean director okay, can make anime in Japanese, but but use scenes from Singapore!! That for sure can sell tickets liao (at least in Singapore)!

Oh by the way, for those who have not watched

Here’s a link of the full video, don’t say I give you one please!! https://helloasia.jp/62637-2/
